Hello readers and thank you for visiting my website and reading my first Getting the Edge Blog post. Part of the launch of the second edition of my website has meant keeping Chief Marketer, Merry Neitlich of the Coach's Edge, working tirelessly on my behalf. This grand venture of my website re-launch has meant that Merry has pushed, coerced, and even shamed me into stepping outside my creative comfort zone to start writing inspiring blogs for all of you.
So, I am going to Blogging Skating School, so to speak, and the first step is registration. Go check out your local skating rink to savor and taste the smorgasbord of inspiring classes for young and old. Our sport has morphed over the years and adding new types of programs and classes is one way we can all help others to get involved and stay involved in figure skating.
Yes, I admit that starting a blog is a daunting task , however I will pull in and rotate this double axel and give it my best shot. My components will probably be low as it is early in the season. Maybe I can seek out some judges, coaches and technical specialist for guidance to get my levels higher.
I plan to cover many topics in Getting the Edge to inform, inspire, and educate visitors about figure skating and how it can enrich our lives. Figure skating has enriched my life; I have had the pleasure and opportunity to work with so many great coaches and skaters over the years. The immense amount of travel around the world has been awesome and awe inspiring. I hope you get the feeling of flying that I feel from this beautiful sport of ours.
The session is over and the Zamboni is coming out!
